The Device Management market is very competitive as OMA-CP (OTA) and OMA-DM platforms are vital for the mobile operators to protect their revenues.

In this case study we consider a Device Management company called OTA-Manage who want to differentiate themselves, add value and enhance revenues.

The Challenge

OTA-Manage is a company which provides an OTA-Platform for device management. They are seeking applications to offer along side its OTA-Platform that provide additional benefits to its customers and increase message volumes passing through its platform.

By increasing the traffic on their system, OTA-Manage increase the dependency of the operator on their platform and increase revenues over the long-term through capacity licenses. As part of their longer term strategy, OTA-Manage are looking to create new revenues by providing the operator with additional applications that can drive data revenues.

OTA-Manage decided to partner with iOTA Sphere and use iOTA On-Device Services as an OTA-Manage branded application.

The Results

OTA-Manage was immediately able to extend their product portfolio , and gained entry into the premium mobile applications market.

iOTA On-Device Services provided OTA-Manage with new revenue from existing customers and an enhanced turn-key solution for new customers.

OTA-Manage deployed the iOTA On-Device Service solution with their existing OTA-Platform installations. Users embraced the simplicity and interactivity of the new application and traffic on its existing SMS services increased by 35%. OTA-Manage saw an opportunity to include additional, more sophisticated SMS and MMS services and due to the increased uptake, resulted in a larger message capacity license of their platform.

Both OTA-Manage and the operators benefited from iOTA On-Device Services, with increase in SMS/MMS traffic and management features which enabled visibility and discoverability of services.

OTA-Manage was immediately able increase short term revenue from existing customers whilst preparing a longer term strategy for offering iOTA-On-Device services as part of their turn key solution. iOTA On-Device services also allowed OTA-Manage to look at new IP based services such as application download and management.
